The business challenge

Named the third fastest-growing company in Canada in the 2007 Deloitte Technology Fast 50, BTI Systems is a global supplier of Agile Optical Edge microWDM networking solutions for the delivery of gigabit services. To support their growth, BTI needs a web technology partner to develop a suite of tools that complement their offerings.

The Lixar solutions

The Lixar - BTI relationship is a long standing one that dates back to 2001. Over the years, BTI has leveraged Lixar’s expertise in a variety of areas – from web application development and business process automation to design and support. One of Lixar's bigger initiatives with BTI included the development of an online link configurator tool (http://www.linkconfigurator.com/) that builds network designs.

Another exciting project, one that is currently under way, is the development of BTI's Support and Partner portal. We are building software that

• customizes the user experience, ensuring each customer, sales person and visitor gets the experience they need from the site;
• automates some of the back-office processes needed to manage the large amount of documentation;
• improves indexing and searchability of content;
• enables easier and more flexible delivery of support documents;
• improves control through reporting and metrics

In short, Lixar's objective is to provide BTI with the technology it needs to better manage their customer support and partner portal, while making it easier for people to use the site.  This means improved productivity for BTI and peace of mind knowing that they can rely on Lixar's flexible there-when-you-need-us support.
