Lixar & SOS Children's Villages Soccer Day

On Soccer Day, over 100 Lixar, Bell Canada and SOS Children’s Villages team-players will show off their soccer skills to raise money for SOS Children's Villages.

Lixar is very proud to work with SOS Children’s Villages for the third consecutive year.  Together, our aim is to support primarily orphaned children in Rustenburg, South Africa through the Family Strengthening Program (FSP) and the SOS Children’s Villages’ FSP Scholarship Program.

SOS Children’s Villages provides scholarships to families throughout the community that will cover the costs of children attending kindergarten, primary, or secondary school.  These scholarships are provided to the most vulnerable children, who otherwise would be unable to attend school.  Funds raised at the Lixar – SOS Children’s Villages Soccer Day will support the FSP scholarship program directly.

The 2008 soccer match will build on Lixar’s 2006 and 2007 contribution and support in Rustenburg, South Africa.  Funds raised in 2006 went towards, the construction of a new SOS Children’s Village which was built in part because of the ‘FIFA 6 Villages for 2006’ Campaign.
